Library Cards

The Flat Rock Public Library is now offering library card renewals, new library cards, and minor cards online. This can take up to two weeks. We are just introducing them and refining the process. This card is valid for 30 days or until you sign your application and pick up your parmanent card in person, if you want an immediate card, please stop in during our normal business hours.

PLEASE NOTE: This is only available to residents of Flat Rock, Gibraltar and Rockwood.


Adult Library Cards 

By submitting the request you agree to all of the basic rules of the card. Cards may only be obtained by Flat Rock, Gibraltar, Rockwood residents. You must provide a picture of the front of your state ID or state driver’s license and a picture of the backside of it. This is required to prove residency.

Select the option that is right for you: 1) renewing a library card, 2) renewing a library card and ordering a replacement card, or 3) getting a first card (which means you never had one).

Minor Library Cards

For those who are 17 and younger, the form must be filled out by a sponsor; sponsors must be a parent or legal guardian who is age 18 or older and a resident of Flat Rock, Gibraltar, or Rockwood. Legal guardians must have court papers showing they have guardianship. The parent or guardian must submit a picture of the front and back of their state ID or state driver’s license to prove residency. The sponsor of a minor card must be the actual parent OR a legal guardian with court papers showing they have guardianship. This is a requirement and is not negotiable. The parent/guardian is responsible for fines/lost/damaged materials that accumulate on the minor’s card.
